2022 Home School Experience

Attention: Home School Leaders

October 11th thru October 14th, 2020

 

We  are offering full day programs on four separate days so you can take your pick.

We are offering four programs each day starting at 10:00am and ending at 2:15pm. Programs include:

· Timucua Indian Program

· Spanish Program

· Dirt Detectives (Archaeology) Program

· Homestead Pioneer Program

 

Your day starts at 9:30 for registration, first program begins at 10:00 and then onto the next program at 10:45. There will be a one hour break for lunch and will allow us to clean and disinfect during this period. After your 11:30-12:30 lunch break there will be the 3rd and 4th programs ending at your day at 2:00pm

IMPORTANT: We are only allowing up to 50 persons per day and they will be divided into two groups of 25.

 

We encourage you to preregister to avoid missing out on this experience.

 If any day is sold out tickets will not be available at he door.

 

DAILY SCHEDULE:

9:30-10:00 Registration check in

10:00—10:45                Spanish Program

10:45—11:30                Indian Program

11:30—12:30                Lunch Break

12:30—1:15                  Homestead Program

1:15—2:00                    Dirt Detectives Program

 

There is also a 60 minute lunch break. No lunches are provided by the museum, guests are expected to bring their own lunches.  Coolers are encouraged.

             This interactive experience is designed to expose students to daily living activities of the Timucua Indians, early Spanish settlers, Florida Pioneer children, as well as the field of archaeology.

             Costumed Guides will provide history and instruction in the use of tools and games for each historical time period.  Participants will also complete a take-home projects. Old Florida Museum includes a Timucuan Indian house, a Spanish house, a Florida Homestead Cracker house and a mock archaeological dig, 

We also invite you to visit the Old Florida General Store, featuring many unusual and old-fashioned items.
